The Georgia Composite Medical Board is comprised of fifteen (15) Board members appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the State Senate. By statute, two members are "consumer" members, two are Doctors of Osteopathy, and ten are doctors who have doctors of medicine degrees.

Note: The newly passed Medical Practice Act adds one physician member of the Board and one consumer member of the Board; these two positions have not been filled as of June 15, 2009. Please check back often for updates to this information.
The Board has several advisory committees that review matters pertaining to the licensing of specific areas of practice and additional committees that review matters pertaining to the enforcement of the laws and rules of the Board.
